We Arrived!

We flew into Managua today after a good week of orientation. We enjoyed our time in Pittsburgh getting to know our fellow missioners and had a great deal of time to reflect on why we are doing what we are doing and what our purpose is! I hope to write more on all of that later, but for now that’s all I’ve got! We made it and are super excited to be here!

The next few days will include more orienting in Managua, a history lesson, some tours and getting to know each other. This weekend we will be at a lake retreat, to again, focus on our purpose and spend time together. Next week, we dive into a week of 1-on-1 Spanish classes in Matagalpa (coffee capital of Nicaragua!..and much cooler in the mountains). The last two weeks of the month we will spend time in our town (San Nicolas) with the current volunteers--Davie and Sarah as they pass on their wisdom and help orient us in the town. Lots of adventures ahead, all of which we are very much looking forward to!
