It's been a while since we've updated this blog, but we have some exciting news. We have started the San Nicolas Education Foundation (along with other former VMM volunteers--Billy and Kristin, David and Sarah). This foundation helps supports university students via scholarships for exam preparations and stipends, as public university is free in Nicaragua. With the help of a generous grant from VMM, we were able to complete our first full year of scholarships and it was a great success. We are very excited to see this foundation grow and to support these students as they pursue higher education, you can visit our website for more information and details.
Kyle and I are looking forward to visiting Nicaragua in December to check-in on our scholarship recipients, review applications alongside our in-town coordinator and local committee, and reconnect with our friends in San Nicolas.
